Frederico Penteado was born in Lisbon.Studied Fine Art and Design at ESAD, SNBA and ETIC and practiced printmaking under João Pedro Cochofel. Since 1999 participated in group shows until 2004 when he interrupted Fine Art practice to make design and illustration for magazines, newspapers and a children's book and forming a co-operative studio with fellow illustrators, such as Jorge Coelho, Rui Gamito and Rui Lacas. Moving to London in 2006 he resumed his art practice and undertook a Master of Arts at City and Guilds of London Art School writing a dissertation under the title "Of Poetical Vision and Of Art as Existential Answer" . He currently teaches Art and design at Huanghuai University in Zhumadian, China
